Researchers from the Oeschger Centre have been highly recognised for their findings – the prestigious journal Nature has featured their findings on its cover page and has commented on it extensively in its "News & Views" section. Two simultaneously published articles present data laboriously extracted from an Antarctic ice core. They provide an unprecedented view of the temperature, and levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide and methane, over the past 800,000 years of the Earth's history.
