“The human influence on the climate system is clear”. This headline from the 2014 IPCC AR5 Synthesis Report Summary for Policymakers speaks with a clear voice and is arguably among the most important contributions to climate change science in recent years. The 2016 Hans Sigrist Symposium will provide a forum for discussion of the science basis that led to this conclusion and for discussion of future prospects including the ethical, societal, and legal implications of Detection & Attribution science.
